First Middie Blythe - part 3

At first I sanded the face plate until there was no paint on it. Than I carved the space between nose and mouth particularly the lips very carefully. It wasn´t easy to observe the symmetrie.

I used different carving tools. Among other things a linocut tool and scalpels with different blades. Actually it was more shaving as carving.

I sanded the face again with fine sandpaper for wet-grind and used a bit water. Than I sealed the surface with Mr.Super Clear UV cut. I don´t know if UV cut is necessary. Usually I use it for my BJDs.

First step of make-up with pastel and acrylic paint on the lips. I like this little face and next time I will try to change more.

First Middie Blythe part 2 - eye mechanism

I searched the internet and found some information about Middie Blythe custom. However, it seems a fake doll is a little bit different from an original doll.  Not all hints were accurate. Here I´m going to show you the dismantling step by step.

This is the bottom of the eye mechanism.

And here is the upside with eyelids

Front side with original eyelids and eyes

The bottom of the eye mechanism without eyelids

Still more parts and screws .

Now I can remove the eyes.

Hopefully I will be able to put it back together again.

First Middie Blythe - part 1

First thing, Middies haven´t got moveable eyelids. This was disappointing. The eye mechanism looks like a very complicated machine and you will need very tiny Phillips-tip screwdriver to open the head and remove the mechanism.

The two- piece hemisphere at the top of the neck causes that  Middie can incline her head.

I tried to open the head without cutting but it didn´t work. Now I have to buy a new soft scalp and a dome too.
